Our Firm

Murphy, Goldammer and Prendergast was founded in 2003, when three of Sioux Falls’ most prominent attorneys embarked on a journey of their own. For one of these attorneys, Jeremiah D. Murphy, it meant leaving behind the legacy his father had been a part of when he joined the law firm of Boyce, Warren & Fairbank in 1924. It was also a history that all three attorneys shared.

Jeremiah Murphy, joined his father at Boyce, Warren, Murphy & McDowell in 1956. As the firm continued to grow and change, Boyce, Murphy, McDowell & Greenfield welcomed Vance Goldammer and Terry Prendergast to its practice in the 1970s. It is here that a bond was formed, a vision shared, and a new law firm evolved.

Murphy, Goldammer and Prendergast’s ties to the community, to the citizens of South Dakota, and to the legal field remains strong as we continue to strive to meet the needs of a changing society. Technology is a part of that change and while our firm has embraced all the changes in technology that have come into our lives, our society and our field of practice, we still pride ourselves on being able to build our firm one client at a time.
